Children's Museum of South Dakota

Help enrich the experience at CMSD and make a child's visit something they'll never forget.

Volunteers are an important part of the Children’s Museum Team! Your efforts help us inspire children to learn and grow by providing high quality learning experiences that last a lifetime.

We welcome individuals, families, service organizations, student groups, and retired educators. We provide diverse opportunities in many areas of our museum that are complimentary to your talents and interests. Our program provides a unique experience to grow your communication, team building, and leadership skills.

Days of the week and hours vary, including weekdays, weekends, and special events. Scheduling is flexible based on your availability.

Please note: Volunteers requiring service hours mandated through the court system are not accepted in the Children’s Museum of South Dakota Volunteer Program.
